Built in Tempe. Trusted across Maricopa County.
EL Construction is a locally owned commercial concrete and general contracting company. We answer the phone, show up when we say we will, and stand behind every pour.
A different kind of contractor.
EL Construction was founded with one belief: clients deserve a contractor who picks up the phone, gives a straight answer, and finishes what they start. That's not a marketing line — it's the bar we set every single day.
We're headquartered in Tempe, Arizona, and we serve the entire Maricopa County valley. Our main focus is commercial concrete — foundations, flatwork, demolition, excavation, ADA ramps, and parking-lot pads — and we handle residential driveways, patios, and full general contracting work as well.
What makes us different is simple: we run our own crews, we pull our own permits, we give itemized written quotes, and we back every job with a workmanship warranty. No brokering. No sub-of-a-sub. No surprise change orders on Friday afternoon.
Whether you're a general contractor needing a reliable concrete sub for the next 18 months of work, an owner planning a new commercial slab, or a homeowner needing a driveway done right the first time — we'd love to earn your business.
Commercial concrete is our craft.
Most of our work is commercial concrete across Maricopa County: warehouse pads in West Phoenix and Deer Valley, tilt-up footings in Chandler's tech corridor, ADA ramp retrofits and tenant-improvement saw-cut in downtown Tempe and along Mill Avenue, parking-lot pours in Scottsdale and Glendale, loading-dock slabs for distribution centers, and equipment pads for HVAC, generators, and standby gear. If your project is poured concrete, we can probably price it.
We also handle foundations and excavation, driveways and flatwork, and concrete demolition with haul-off. Doing all four under one contractor eliminates scheduling gaps and finger-pointing between trades — and it lets us demo and re-pour in a single mobilization where the scope allows.
Residential customers usually find us through word-of-mouth in established Tempe and Mesa flatwork neighborhoods. We pour driveways, patios, RV pads, and pool decks, and we'll match existing decorative concrete (color, stamp, or finish) for additions and partial replacements — one of the trickier jobs in flatwork, and one we do routinely.
Built around three commitments.
Direct crews, not brokered subs. When you hire us, our crews are the ones on-site. Quality control, scheduling, and accountability stay with the same name on the contract — not subbed three layers deep. The result is fewer schedule slips, fewer change orders, and a single phone number when something needs attention.
Itemized written quotes. Every quote spells out concrete strength (PSI), slab thickness, rebar grade and spacing, sub-base prep, vapor barrier, finish, control-joint plan, cure protection, and haul-off. If a competitor's bid is dramatically lower, we'll show you exactly what's missing — so you can compare apples to apples instead of price tags on different scopes.
Workmanship warranty in writing. Every commercial pour is backed by a clear, written workmanship warranty in the contract. We answer the phone after the job, too — that's not a marketing line, that's how we keep our reputation across Maricopa County.
Local soil. Local inspectors. Local schedule.
Pouring concrete in the Phoenix area is its own discipline. Summer pours regularly happen with ambient temperatures over 110°F, which means temperature management, retarders, and curing compounds aren't optional. Monsoon season (July through September) demands tight scheduling around storm windows. Soil varies from caliche near the foothills to expansive clay in pockets of east Tempe and Mesa to compacted alluvial fill across the central basin to decomposed granite in parts of Scottsdale and Paradise Valley.
We've been pouring through valley summers long enough to plan for it — early mobilizations, additives where needed, blanket and wet cure protocols, and curing compounds that hold moisture during the critical first seven days when most of the strength gain happens. We coordinate directly with city building departments across the county on permits, encroachment, and inspections.
Our service area covers all of Maricopa County, with crews working most often in Tempe, Phoenix, Mesa, Scottsdale, Chandler, and Gilbert. See the full service area for the complete city list.
Fully covered, every job.
EL Construction is a licensed general contractor in the State of Arizona. We carry general liability and workers' compensation insurance on every job, and we'll provide certificates on request before the contract is signed. Our crews are W-2 employees, not 1099 day labor — that means consistent training, consistent quality control, and consistent accountability.
We pull our own permits with city building departments across Maricopa County, schedule inspections, and meet inspectors on-site with the rebar exposed so there's no second trip. We handle right-of-way and encroachment permits where required for sidewalk or driveway work in the public right-of-way.
